Walthamstow escort charged with assault in Walthampstead

A Walthampshire escort has been charged with assaulting a man with a cane in the streets of the capital’s west.

Police said on Friday the 34-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was not expected to be charged.

Police spokeswoman Natalie Young said the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, suffered cuts and bruises to his head, neck and back.

She said he was wearing a blue hooded top and a black baseball cap when he was arrested at the West End hotel.

“We have been investigating a domestic assault allegation and we are investigating this as an assault,” she said.

“The man is a member of the Walthamshire police escort service and has not been previously charged.”

He has been interviewed by officers and is in police custody.

“If you would like to provide information for police you can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or text ‘POLICE’ to 47457.”

Walthams will be working closely with the Metropolitan Police to understand how to prevent this incident in the future.
